Job Description Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) Potter House Recovery – Cincinnati, Ohio Position Type: Full-TimeLocation: Cincinnati, OHLicensure Required: LICDC (Ohio)Compensation: $70,000 – $85,000 annually, based on experience and leadership capacitySupervisory Opportunity: Eligible for promotion to Clinical Supervisor after successful completion of a 90-day probationary period. ⸻ Position Overview Potter House Recovery is seeking a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) who is passionate about helping individuals overcome substance use disorders and reclaim their lives. This role will provide clinical counseling services, treatment planning, and documentation oversight for clients in our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). During the first 90 days, the selected candidate will work closely with leadership to demonstrate clinical competency, team collaboration, and leadership ability. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, the candidate may be promoted into a Clinical Supervisor role helping oversee counseling staff and program development. ⸻ Key Responsibilities Clinical Services • Provide individual and group counseling for individuals struggling with substance use disorders. • Conduct assessments, treatment planning, and clinical evaluations. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with Ohio Medicaid, CARF/COA, and state regulations. • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate. • Coordinate care with case managers, peer support, and external providers. Program Collaboration • Work closely with leadership to ensure clinical quality and ethical standards. • Participate in team meetings, case staffing, and treatment planning reviews. • Assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Leadership Development (Post-Probation) Upon successful completion of the 90-day probationary period, the LICDC may transition into a Clinical Supervisor role, which may include: • Providing clinical oversight for counseling staff • Supporting documentation quality and compliance • Assisting with program development and clinical training • Helping establish future residential treatment programming ⸻ Qualifications • Active Ohio LICDC license (required) • Minimum 2+ years experience in substance use disorder treatment • Experience in PHP, IOP, or outpatient behavioral health settings preferred • Strong understanding of ASAM criteria and treatment planning • Excellent documentation and clinical assessment skills • Ability to work within a mission-driven recovery environment ⸻ What We Offer • Competitive salary with leadership advancement opportunity • Mission-driven culture focused on recovery and transformation • Opportunity to help shape and grow clinical programming • Supportive leadership team and collaborative work environment • The ability to make a real impact in the recovery community
