Associate I Payroll

The Fountain Group is a national staffing firm and we are currently seeking a Payroll Tax Specialist for a prominent client of ours. This position is in St. Paul, MN 55117. Details for the position are as follows: Payroll Tax Specialist (100% Onsite)Location: St. Paul, MNPay: $28/hourSchedule: Full-time, 100% OnsiteDuration: 6-month assignment, potential to extend or convert to permanent.We're looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Tax Specialist to join our team in St. Paul, MN. In this role, you'll manage payroll processing, ensure accurate tax filings, and handle statutory deductions and employee compensation components in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and process monthly payroll, including vacation pay, overtime, and other compensationEnsure accurate calculation and payment of statutory withholdings (e.g., Social Security, income tax, employee guarantee fund, labor dues)Manage payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (including FICA)Process payments related to terminations and dismissalsAddress internal payroll-related tickets and collaborate with external tax vendorsSupport payroll projects and assist with system testingParticipate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing process improvements • Requirements:2-3 years of payroll and payroll tax experienceStrong understanding of payroll taxes including federal, state, and FICAExperience with payroll tax filing and statutory payment processesHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredStrong attention to detail and consistencyAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasksProject or system testing experience is a plus Ideal Traits:Self-motivated and dependableStrong communicator and team playerProactive with excellent organizational skills.
