For more information, visit lek.com.Overview Of Information & Research CenterThe Information & Research Specialist plays a key role at L.E.K., providing best-in-class perspectives on secondary research and sources to our consulting team members working to solve our client's critical strategic problems. As a member of the US Information & Research Center (IRC) team, the Specialist enables consulting staff to quickly identify and access the most relevant data and information available, and provides insight, caveats and recommendations to assist consulting staff in understanding how content fits within the context of their project. The Information & Research Specialist will seek to develop expertise in certain topic areas (e.g., certain sectors, data sources), so they can serve as a trusted advisor on these topics across the firm. This position reports to the Associate Director of the IRC, and will receive ongoing mentorship, guidance and training.ResponsibilitiesSupport consulting staff byUnderstanding their questions and goals for secondary research and information to support project work Working with IRC team members, consulting team members and others to identify the most relevant resources and/or methods available for the research needs Collaborating with staff in other departments (e.g. Data & Analytics, Sector Specialists) to develop internal resources for specific projects or to be used generally Further support the firm in efficient secondary research practices by sharing updates and perspectives with other IRC staff and support staffBe in the forefront of secondary research by proactively seeking out new resources and continually expanding knowledge of sector trends and business issues Leverage internal resources and information streams to hone applicability of research approaches and resourcesContribute to various other workstreams that promote the success of the IRC and the firm; activities could include:Assist the Director in the assessment, selection and management of online, electronic and print resourcesSupport Managing Directors, Principals and client development teams in gathering information for business development purposesContribute content to the US IRC’s knowledge bases to serve as reference points for both the consulting and IRC staff Professional DevelopmentRegularly participates in skill development activities, both internally and externally Continually deepens and broadens skill set QualificationsMaster’s Degree in Library and/or Information Science or equivalent work experience in providing business related secondary research support Experience in supporting company and industry research and analysis preferred Working knowledge of search functionality available in business research databases expected Ability to work as part of a team or independently as required. The ability to organize work and negotiate workload to meet deadlines Excellent customer service skills and ability to effectively manage ambiguityStrong problem solving, communication, and critical thinking skills Additional Information: The expected base salary range for this position is $60,000– $80,000annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
