Medical Assistant/Certified Phlebotomist (Per Diem)

DescriptionPosition Summary:As a Medical Assistant/Certified Phlebotomist, your responsibilities will encompass a widerange of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication,supporting both the healthcare provider and patients. Your dedication to completing allactivities with utmost accuracy, efficiency, and a commitment to high-quality standardswill contribute significantly to our mission of delivering exceptional patient care andservice excellence.Essential Job Duties Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, answering orreferring inquiries. Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanyingthem to the examining room; providing examination gowns and drapes; helpingthem to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment; arrangingexamining room instruments, supplies, and equipment. Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, reviewing and/or recordingmedical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment. Adhere to safety and infection control protocols. Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers duringexaminations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory testson the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medicalinstruments; administering medications on the premises; authorizing drug refills asdirected; drawing blood; preparing patients for x-rays; taking electrocardiograms;removing sutures; changing dressings. Conducting occupational health tests, including Audiometry, Spirometry, and fittesting. Assist providers with workers' compensation injuries, administer first aid, andconduct drug screening and alcohol collection. Maintain accurate records of all collections. Assist in scheduling appointments and coordinating services with other healthcareproviders. Track and complete referrals in coordination with adjusters and outside vendors. Communicate test results to patients and healthcare providers as directed. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and proper storage of PHI. Perform blood draws and other specimen collection procedures in accordancewith established protocols and guideline. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. Coordinate clinic logistics and equipment setup and breakdown at various worksites; travel to different work sites as required. Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating motivation, reliability,organization, and punctuality. Other duties as assignedRequirementsRequired Licenses and Certifications:Medical Assistant Certificate preferred.Phlebotomy certificationBLS certified with CPR/AED proficiency.Education, Skills, And QualificationsCompletion of medical assistant coursework from an accredited program.High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.Prior experience in an occupational health setting preferred.Knowledge and experience with electronic medical records.Current driver license and reliable transportation.Ability to travel, as required.Physical DemandsThe position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time to perform varioustasks. It also involves lifting objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Good dexterity and hand eye coordination are essential for handling equipment and performing precise tasks. Therole may involve repetitive tasks, requiring the candidate to have the physical capabilityto carry them out effectively. Additionally, good visual acuity is necessary for readingand accurately recording information. The candidate should be able to bend, kneel,and reach to access and handle materials and equipment. Excellent mobility is neededto move around the clinic and perform examinations efficiently. The role mayoccasionally require working in confined spaces, which the candidate should becomfortable with.Salary Description$25.00-$28.00/hr
