Labor And Employment Attorney

Trustpoint One is pleased to partner with a leading Michigan law firm in its search for a Labor and Employment Attorney. The Attorney will provide support and assistance to Partners attorneys during all phases of employment related litigation and traditional labor matters. The position has hybrid flexibility in the firm’s Detroit or Troy office.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct thorough and high-quality legal researchAssist with all areas of discovery including drafting discovery requests, responses to discovery requests, preparation of initial disclosures and witness preparationPrepare legal briefs and other pleadingsWork with Partners to determine documents and information to produce, manner of production, and selection of vendorsDraft responses to EEOC and MDCR chargesHandle various aspects of employment related litigation, such as motion hearings, mediations and depositionsPrepare trial materialsAttend and assist at pretrial, trial, and post-trial proceedingsQUALIFICATIONS:Must be a graduate of an accredited law schoolAdmitted to the Michigan State Bar, or eligible to promptly become admitted3-6 years’ experience in employment related litigation and client counselingExcellent research and writing skillsGood organizational and project management skillsExperience in managing discoveryExperience in taking and defending depositionsProficient in the use of on-line legal research services and legal resources available on the internet including WestlawExcellent communication skills (both oral and written)Experience in traditional labor matters a plusAll candidates must be able to work on a computer screen for a sustained amount of time.Trustpoint.One provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
