In this role, you will serve as the critical link between digital infrastructure and physical operations. You will be responsible for deploying and securely configuring edge computing systems, servers, and networks that support industrial control environments. This position requires a strong background in Linux system administration, a passion for automation, and a deep understanding of deploying technology in uptime-critical and safety-first environments.Job Responsibilities• Report to the OT Systems Deployment Manager• Lead installation, configuration, and commissioning of Linux-based edge devices, servers, and virtualized environments (Ubuntu, VMware, Proxmox)• Develop, maintain, and optimize automation scripts and configuration tools (Ansible, Bash, Python)• Deploy and manage time-series and relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MariaDB• Monitor hardware health, plan for lifecycle and obsolescence, and ensure adequate system resources• Work with ruggedized edge hardware and industrial networking equipment• Enable communication via industrial protocols such as Modbus TCP/RTU, DNP3, OPC UA, and MQTT• Act as escalation point for complex deployment issues, ensuring reliability and safety standards• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support operational handoff to production teams• Maintain documentation and track work progress within Agile frameworks using JIRARequired Skills & Experience• 3+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, IT/OT integration, or infrastructure deployment in industrial or manufacturing environments• Advanced Linux system administration experience, including deployment and system hardening• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and scripting in Bash, Python, or Ruby• Strong understanding of networking concepts, including firewalls, VLANs, and OT cybersecurity• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and secure routing practices• Experience working in Agile environments and using JIRA for task tracking• Proficiency with Git for version control• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders• Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively within a teamNice to Have Skills & Experience• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field• Experience within energy, renewable energy, or utilities sectors• Exposure to containerization and edge deployment tools such as Docker• Experience working with operational historians or industrial databases
