General Manager – RailLocation: San Dimas, California.Transdev Rail, Inc. seeks a General Manager to oversee the Transdev Rail Construction and Maintenance Division in California. The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and requires overall management of operations, day‐to‐day project management, customer interfacing, safety, security, maintenance, reporting, compliance, administrative functions, and pricing.CompensationCompetitive compensation package: minimum $156,000 – maximum $195,000BenefitsVacation: minimum of two (2) weeksSick days: five daysHolidays: twelve days (eight standard and four floating)Other standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short‐term disability, voluntary long‐term disability.ResponsibilitiesOversee day‐to‐day operations, pricing, maintenance, and administrative activities.Collect, analyze and interpret key performance indicators and take appropriate actions.Develop the annual budget and monitor compliance with monthly and annual financial targets.Lead the safety effort and adhere to safety policy and procedures.Create and maintain strong relationships between the community and Transdev Rail.Proactively establish and maintain relationships between Transdev, the corporate office and the client, and related boards, committees and agencies.Ensure security of property assets.Ensure compliance with all company policies.Develop operational strategies, including prompt resolution of operational problems and/or passenger complaints.Represent Transdev Rail and other company officials as directed in various meetings.Represent the company in labor agreement negotiations and interpretations, as directed by Senior Rail Leadership.Assist the client in developing commuter rail activation plans, integrating testing plans, and executing system integration, component testing, safety program plan compliance, car commissioning, pre‐revenue exercises, safety drills, freight operations, commuter operations plans, staff and vendor training, and workplace safety.Execute maintenance and materials procurement plans, freight and commuter rail construction and MOW procedures, and related tasks for facility and maintenance requirements, including right‐of‐way, signals, track work, communications, maintenance and rail station facilities, and staffing plans.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum of 10 years management experience in Class One rail maintenance or construction.Bachelor's Degree in engineering, construction management, bid estimation or a combination of education and experience.10 years related experience in rail or transit, with 8 years in rail MOW, management positions or equivalent demonstrated management experience.Comprehensive knowledge of public management and organizational theories, principles, practices, and techniques.Ability to understand sound fiscal financial principles.Thorough knowledge of the basic laws, ordinances and regulations underlying rail operations.California Contractors License or ability to test and pass the California Contractors Licensing Test.Physical DemandsApproximately 90% of work is performed indoors in air‐conditioned or well‐ventilated facilities.Approximately 10% of work is performed outdoors in varying temperature, weather and humidity conditions; most work is performed alone in remote locations.Requires frequent standing and walking; ability to sit for up to three hours; walk long distances and on uneven or slippery surfaces; normal manual dexterity and eye‐hand coordination; lift material up to 25 lbs. with assistance; bend and stoop; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication.Exposure to dust, vehicle fumes and noise.Ability to travel for company training, meetings or support missions.Legal & Equal OpportunityTransdev is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer and welcomes all qualified applicants.
