Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Title: Engineer IV – Electrical Oversight Engineer (Solar & BESS)LocationFlorida (Preferred: St. Petersburg, FL)Travel required across Florida (approximately 3 days/week)Job SummaryOur client is seeking an Electrical/Protection & Control (P&C) Engineer to provide engineering oversight for utility-scale Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This is an Owner's Engineer role focused on reviewing EPC designs, supporting construction, and leading projects through commissioning and handover.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and oversee EPC engineering designs and technical deliverables.Support projects from design review through commissioning.Coordinate with EPC contractors, project managers, and internal teams.Review power system studies and resolve technical issues.Conduct site visits and support construction activities.Ensure compliance with NERC, IEEE, and company standards.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering.6+ years of Electrical, Power Systems, or Protection & Control engineering experience.Experience with utility-scale Solar, BESS, transmission, or substations.Strong knowledge of ETAP/SKM, Load Flow, Short Circuit, Arc Flash, and Protective Relaying.Familiarity with NERC regulations.Ideal CandidateProtection & Control (P&C) or Power Systems Engineer from a Utility or EPC background.Strong design experience with an interest in moving into an engineering oversight/Owner's Engineer role.Excellent communication skills and a stable work history with interest in long-term projects.Key SkillsUtility-Scale Solar & BESSETAP / SKMProtective RelaysPower System StudiesEPC Design ReviewCommissioningNERC ComplianceTransmission & SubstationsEEO Statement:Mindlance is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate in employment on the basis of Minority/Gender/Disability/Religion/LGBTQI/Age/Veterans.
