Litigation Secretary

An established litigation firm specializing in construction and corporate law is seeking a Litigation Assistant / Legal Secretary to support a busy legal team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong technical and organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment. The firm is open to considering a more junior candidate with exceptional computer proficiency and the ability to quickly learn legal procedures and filing requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, proofread, and format pleadings, briefs, declarations, motions, and other legal documents.Handle California state court filings, arbitration filings, and occasional federal court filings.Prepare and maintain Tables of Contents (TOC) and Tables of Authorities (TOA).Ensure proper formatting of legal documents, including headers, footers, pagination, and styles.Coordinate preparation, filing, and service of litigation documents.Manage document organization and maintain accurate case files.Assist attorneys with general litigation support and administrative tasks.QualificationsPrior litigation experience required; practice area experience may vary.3–5+ years of experience in a law firm environment preferred.Strong computer and technical skills are essential.Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and legal software programs.Experience with e-discovery platforms and legal research tools such as Westlaw is a plus.Excellent proofreading, writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.Open to junior-level candidates who demonstrate advanced technical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
