Sewer Collection Systems Operator

An established environmental services organization is seeking a Sewer Collection Systems Operator to support the operation and maintenance of municipal wastewater infrastructure. This role is responsible for performing routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on sewer collection systems, including pipelines, manholes, valves, and related assets.This is a hands-on position ideal for candidates with strong technical skills and a commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities:Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance as part of an established maintenance programOperate equipment used in the rehabilitation and maintenance of sewer collection systemsRepair and maintain sewer lines, manholes, and lift stationsAssist with CCTV inspection systems and sewer line inspectionsRespond to customer service issues and resolve complaints as neededMaintain accurate records, including daily operational readings and maintenance logsMonitor and manage inventory of parts, supplies, and chemicalsSupport facility upkeep, including buildings and grounds maintenanceAssist with utility line location and asset management programsRespond to emergency situations and system callouts as requiredCommunicate effectively with team members regarding daily operations and activitiesSchedule:Monday–Friday, first shiftFlexibility required to accommodate seasonal demandsParticipation in on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent requiredValid driver’s license requiredState-issued Collection System Operator license (Class “C” or equivalent) requiredAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsStrong teamwork and communication skillsWillingness to respond to emergencies and work extended hours as neededAbility to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screeningCompensation & Benefits:Hourly pay: $26–$38, based on experience and qualificationsAnnual performance and safety bonuses401(k) with employer matchPaid time off, including vacation, sick time, and holidaysPaid parental leaveMedical, dental, and vision insuranceShort- and long-term disability coverageLife insurance and optional additional coverageEmployee wellness and mental health support programs
