Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)Reports To: Director of Student Services Salary: Starting at $57,590 (commensurate with experience and education)Start Date: July 24, 2026Position OverviewThe Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and providing intervention services to students with communication disorders. This role is essential in supporting students' academic success and social development through evidence-based speech and language services.The SLP collaborates with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized programs that address a wide range of communication needs, including speech, language, and related areas.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluation & AssessmentConduct speech, language, and hearing screeningsAdminister formal and informal diagnostic assessmentsGather and review relevant information from records, staff, and familiesAnalyze and interpret assessment data to determine student needsDevelop comprehensive evaluation reports, including recommendationsMake referrals for audiology and related services as appropriateIEP Development & ImplementationDevelop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) using multidisciplinary dataEstablish appropriate goals, accommodations, and service delivery modelsImplement and monitor IEP services to ensure student progressInstruction & InterventionPlan and deliver targeted speech and language interventions aligned with student needs and state standardsUtilize a variety of evidence-based instructional strategies and techniquesAdjust interventions based on ongoing student performance and dataMaintain effective use of time, materials, and service delivery environmentsFoster positive and supportive relationships with studentsApply current clinical and educational research to practiceCollaboration & CommunicationProvide consultation and guidance to parents, teachers, and staffCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student outcomesCoordinate services with other school-based and related service providersCommunicate with outside agencies as needed to enhance student servicesShare information regarding speech and language programs and supportsQualificationsBachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology preferredCertification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferredValid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license with Special Services endorsement (or ability to obtain)Experience working with students in an educational setting preferredStrong communication, organization, and collaboration skillsPreferred Skills & AttributesExperience developing and implementing IEPsStrong background in assessment and progress monitoring practicesKnowledge of MTSS frameworks and school-based service deliveryAbility to build strong relationships with students, families, and staffFlexible, student-centered, and solution-oriented approachWhy Join The Vanguard SchoolAt The Vanguard School, we are committed to developing both the academic potential and character of every student.
