Surface Operator - Sufco

JOB LOCATION: Canyon Fuel Company - Sufco MineOVERALL JOB PURPOSE:Responsible for the safe and efficient loading of coal onto trucks and rail cars while maximizing the effective utilization of resources provided to deliver a quality product to various customers. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Operate mobile equipment on uneven surfacesFrequent overhead work on belt linesAbility to work inside confined areas on chute liners and chute repair projectsContinuous standing and walking for extended periods of time in inclement weather and in dark, noisy, dirty, and wet work environmentsFrequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, extending, and lifting up to 50lbs.Must have mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance on machines and/or equipmentReasonable strength, agility, and stamina (long hours)Good hand-eye co-ordination, hearing, and eyesightGood spatial perception for judging distancesAbility to remain alert while performing repetitive tasksSupport and participation in the Sufco BBS process and comply with all company policies, safety practices and applicable Federal RegulationsWork with trucking companies, drivers, and others in a professional mannerLoad, weigh coal transport vehicles of varying sizes and complete all support documentationUtilize the forklift to unload various types of freight being delivered to the mine site in addition to utilizing loaders, hoists, etc., for the unloading of heavy equipment delivery PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Current CDL preferredSafe driving recordSurface Foreman Certification or ability to obtain within a timely mannerHigh School Diploma or equivalentExcellent interpersonal & communications skills both written and oralExcellent safety and attendance recordMust have experience operating heavy equipmentMust be a self-starter with ability to work with little or no supervisionMust have basic computer skillsAbility to climb ladders and travel inclined walkwaysAbility to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays as necessary
