Senior SAS Analytics Developer

This role will focus on translating and enhancing existing SAS-based analytics into Python-based solutions while partnering closely with business stakeholders, analytics teams, and technology partners.This is not a pure software engineering role and not a traditional reporting analyst role. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, fluency in Python, and the ability to confidently interpret and refactor SAS logic into modern, maintainable analytics code.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyse and interpret existing SAS programs, including DATA steps, PROC SQL, and common analytical proceduresTranslate SAS-based analytics and transformations into Python using pandas, numpy, and SQL while preserving business logic and output accuracyPartner with Business Informatics stakeholders to understand reporting intent, metrics, and downstream usageValidate converted logic by reconciling outputs, row counts, and aggregations between SAS and PythonImprove existing analytics pipelines by simplifying logic, increasing transparency, and reducing technical debtCollaborate with technology and data platform teams to ensure Python solutions align with enterprise standardsDocument business logic, assumptions, and data transformations for long-term maintainabilityRequired QualificationsStrong experience with Python for data analysis including pandas, numpy, and SQL integrationWorking knowledge of SAS with the ability to confidently read and interpret existing SAS codeExperience translating or modernizing legacy analytics or reporting logicSolid understanding of analytics concepts such as aggregations, joins, time-based logic, and derived metricsAbility to work closely with business users and translate analytical requirements into technical solutionsExperience validating analytical outputs and ensuring data accuracyPreferred QualificationsExperience in healthcare, payer, or regulated data environmentsFamiliarity with SAS macros and common PROC workflowsExposure to cloud-based analytics platforms or modern data stacksExperience supporting Business Intelligence, reporting, or informatics teamsBackground in analytics engineering or data transformation roles
