Controller

A key social services organization in the Valley is hiring a Controller after the long-time team member retired. This role is key to the organization and as much a service mission as a job. This is a required job in a secure entity that has thrived in the community for decades.The ideal candidate is independent and detail-oriented who will oversee the company's financial records and accounting / administrative personnel. Controller is the lead finance and accounting professional who is responsible for BOTH individual hands-on entries and managing a small team of mostly clerks: transactions, reconciliations, adjustments, reporting, planning, and controls. ResponsibilitiesProduce GAAP compliant financial statements and reportingProvide financial processes to support the operations of the organizationSupport cross-functional managers with planning and financial acumenEnsure compliance with laws, agreements, authorities, and donors.QualificationsStrong interpersonal skills, commitment to task, and attention to detailLeadership traits and a track record of success at work and in lifeBachelor's degree in Accounting or 5 - 7 years of related experienceFluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)GAAP knowledge, CPA preferredStrong written, verbal and collaboration skills
