In this position, you will be responsible for executing a wide range of programming tasks, including analyzing, designing, implementing, modifying, and supporting complex systems and modules. You will work on systems of moderate size and complexity or segments of larger systems, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance across the university’s digital infrastructure.The Software Developer will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including academic staff, department heads, external vendors, and technical teams, to understand their needs and translate them into effective technical solutions. You will be instrumental in specifying, building, documenting, securing, deploying, and maintaining applications that support student and academic services. Your expertise will help ensure that these systems are reliable, secure, and aligned with the university’s strategic goals.This role also involves creating comprehensive technical documentation using modern tools such as Markdown and UML diagrams, establishing standards through DevOps practices, and continuously updating documentation to reflect system changes. You may serve as a project leader for moderate complexity projects and will be expected to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Additionally, you will support security protocols, conduct security assessments, and lead compliance audits to ensure data protection and privacy regulations like FERPA and GDPR are adhered to.As a technical resource, you will troubleshoot, optimize system performance, and provide guidance to team members. Your proactive approach will include recommending new technologies, evaluating features, and enhancing user feedback mechanisms.
