Art & Literacy FacilitatorBoxwood Learning CenterBoxwood Learning Center is seeking a creative, engaging, and youth-centered Art & Literacy Facilitator to support youth ages 10–18 through afterschool and community-based programming throughout Union County. The hours are from 3:30 to 6:30 from Monday - Friday.The facilitator will lead structured art, literacy, and enrichment activities that help youth build confidence, communication skills, creativity, teamwork, and positive social connections in a safe and restorative environment.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring youth, creating hands-on activities, and helping young people express themselves through art, reading, writing, and discussion.ResponsibilitiesFacilitate daily art and literacy enrichment activities for youthLead hands-on projects including painting, journaling, creative writing, vision boards, poetry, crafts, and group reading activitiesEncourage positive youth engagement, teamwork, and self-expressionSupport restorative and social-emotional learning activitiesAssist youth with reading comprehension, communication, and basic literacy supportMaintain a safe, welcoming, and organized program environmentSet up and clean up program materials and activity stationsTrack attendance, participation, and basic program outcomesCollaborate with program staff and site coordinators to support youth needsParticipate in team meetings, training, and special eventsQualificationsExperience working with youth or teens preferredBackground in art, education, literacy, mentoring, social services, or related field preferredStrong communication and group facilitation skillsPatient, dependable, creative, and team-orientedAbility to engage youth from diverse backgroundsMust pass required background checksMust have a minimum of an Associate Degree and high school diplomaMust have a reliable vehicle and ability to travel between multiple sites across Union CountyPreferred SkillsExperience leading arts & crafts or creative workshops for childrenKnowledge of restorative practices or trauma-informed engagementAbility to support small group literacy activitiesExperience working in schools, community programs, camps, or afterschool settings A MUSTSchedulePrimarily afternoon and evening hoursMust be available during program hours and occasional special eventsCompensationStarting at $25 per hourPart-Time PositionAbout Boxwood Learning CenterBoxwood Learning Center provides restorative, educational, mentoring, workforce development, and community support services that help youth and families build pathways toward success.
