Position SummaryWe are seeking a Cost Estimator to join our team! The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in construction management and hands-on experience with general contractor projects.ResponsibilitiesReview and revise bond phase estimates for completeness and accuracyExecutes detailed takeoffs, manages trade coverage and bid leveling, prepares narratives, supports presentations.Coordinate project phase estimates (bond, SD, DD, CD, and post award) – evaluate and report any significant changes in costs.Assist with value engineering of projects.Review models with Revit (viewer perspective)—navigate, interpret, and communicate model insightsProvide expert advice on the cost for materials and systems.Prepares analysis summary of costs incurred during the construction phase.Report inaccuracies or omissions made in design or quote estimates.Review request for pricing as required for validation.Analyze market trends, material/labor availability, and logistic constraints (phasing, site conditions).Update database with regional construction costs based on project schedule according to value analysis.Maintain template for opinion of probable costs.Maintain calendar and monitor bidding projects within the educational and commercial field. Qualifications & SkillsMinimum of 5 years of relevant experienceMust have a construction background with general contractor experienceProficiency in MS Office Suite, Revit, Bluebeam, and BIM 360.Ability to interpret incomplete drawings, perform accurate quantity takeoffs, and develop defensible cost models.Skilled in forecasting costs, applying contingencies, and assessing risk factors.Clear in explaining assumptions and estimates; works effectively with project managers, superintendents, and design teams.Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational abilitiesAbility to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
