Senior Elixir Engineer

We are looking for an Elixir Engineer (in LATAM) to join our growing team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to technical initiatives, designing and developing scalable solutions while providing technical mentorship to other engineers. You'll have the opportunity to own features from start to finish, influence specifications, and work across the stack, including backend services (Elixir/Phoenix) and frontend development (React). Your contributions will play a critical role in improving and scaling our software systems, directly impacting the third-party logistics (3PL) industry.Most Important:Proven experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role.Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining distributed systems or complex applications.Strong proficiency in Elixir or other functional programming languages.Extensive experience working with SQL and relational databases.Solid understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and system architecture.Experience with Kafka, developing and maintaining an event-driven architecture.Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor engineers.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure systems with a focus on simplicity and maintainability.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and professional development.Work within a team of engineers and partner with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize work, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality features.Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and software development best practices.Take ownership of entire features from ideation to deployment, influencing specifications and building backend services.Work with other teams to contribute to scaling processes, tools, and technologies.Nice to Have:Previous startup experience.Experience in logistics or supply chain industries.Knowledge of Order Management Systems (OMS).Familiarity with Consumer Experience platforms.Personal Traits:Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.Keen attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and independently.
