Base pay range
$85,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support the monthly/quarterly/annual financial close and financial reporting processes for a STAT basis insurance company and a GAAP basis management company. The Senior Accountant will focus primarily on financial reporting but will be expected to assist in operational/budgeting and ad hoc accounting projects as needed. This role will report directly to the Financial Reporting Director.
Responsibilities
Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close for insurance entity (STAT basis) and management company (GAAP basis)
Prepare account reconciliations and process journal entries
Prepare variance analysis to explain fluctuations in key accounts
Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and disclosures
Interact with external auditors to provide explanations/support for financial statement audits
Participate in the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of policies and procedures and internal controls
Support Financial Reporting Director in preparation of materials for quarterly Board reporting (slide deck, industry highlights, etc.)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Minimum 3 years of experience (public accounting or industry)
Experience in both GAAP and STAT reporting for insurance companies
Very proficient in Microsoft Excel
Strong financial accounting/general ledger skills and understanding
Experience in Property & Casualty insurance with emphasis on private passenger auto preferred
Experience working with general ledger software preferred
Experience with STAT Annual Statement software (Gain Compliance, Wings, FIS, etc.) preferred

Physical Actions/Environment: Required job duties consist of prompt and regular attendance, ability to frequently move about the office to coordinate work with others; standing, sitting and typing for extended periods; and lifting and/or carrying up to 5 lbs. Ability to frequently communicate with others in-person, on the phone/virtually, and in writing. Ability to read, understand, process and evaluate large amounts of technical information and make related, informed decisions.
Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 annually based on experience
Schedule: We offer flexible work hours between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with options like 8–4, 8:30–4:30, or 9–5. We do our best to support individual preferences, though schedules may be adjusted as needed to ensure strong coverage and teamwork.
We also offer a hybrid schedule: team members work onsite four days a week and can work remotely one day a week.
