Maintenance I/Sanitation

Job TitleMaintenance Worker Job DescriptionThe incumbent is responsible to perform maintenance in the parks as scheduled by the Building Maintenance Supervisor, which will include nights and weekends. Safety/Security Sensitive Designation: This position is classified as safety/security sensitive under the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment and is therefore subject to random drug and alcohol testing. Job DutiesProvide good customer service to both internal and external customers; maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of their own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive. Operate maintenance equipment including, but not limited to riding lawn mowers, push mowers, weed trimmers, chain saws, and hand tools. Coordinate the fulfillment of needs of parks and equipment with the Maintenance Supervisor. Inspect park areas and equipment as scheduled. Report vandalism and hazardous conditions to the Building Maintenance Supervisor. Responsible to follow safety procedures set by the Department. Keep park facilities clean, maintained, and stocked with supplies as needed, which will occur on nights and weekends. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Minimum Qualifications7-11 months of related experience and/or training. Must possess a valid Arkansas Driver's License. Must be proficient in the use of mowers, weed trimmers, chain saws and hand tools. Ability to utilize both internal and external resources to obtain information and data necessary to carry out routine assignments and special projects. Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff. Supplemental InformationMust successfully pass criminal background check, including but not limited to convictions, guilty pleas, or no contest pleas to violent offenses, theft offenses, and offenses against children.
