Embedded within the commercial organization, this role is responsible for defining how the business competes and wins in the market.The Director Business Marketing, Rise translates business priorities into clear market strategies and orchestrates cross-functional teams to deliver measurable commercial outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Partnership & StrategyCollaborate and partner with business and sales leaders, to ensure growth goals are met Translate business goals into clear marketing strategies and plans Prioritize marketing activities and focus areas, align resources to objectives Define target segments, customer insights, and growth opportunitiesDevelop positioning, differentiation, and value propositions aligned to market needsFocus & PrioritizationPrioritize marketing efforts based on business impact, growth potential, and strategic importanceMaintain focus on high-value initiatives and avoid dilution across low-impact activitiesPartner with key stakeholders to align on strategic investment requiredRedirect executional or lower complexity needs to appropriate marketing resources, including Product Marketing Managers and Marketing Centers of ExcellenceGo-to-Market PlanningShape and own go-to-market strategies for key offerings, initiatives, and priority segmentsDefine sales plays, messaging frameworks, and program prioritiesEnsure clarity and consistency in how the business goes to marketSales Alignment & EnablementPartner closely with sales leaders to align on priorities, opportunities, and challengesTranslate strategy into actionable tools, narratives, and programs that support sellingContinuously gather field insights to refine messaging and approachMarketing OrchestrationOrchestrate cross-functional teams and aligned support resources Provide direction and guidance to Product Marketing Managers where applicable Ensure clear division between strategic leadership and executional supportWork with Marketing Centers of Excellence (Brand, Content, Creative, Demand/Performance Marketing and Communications) to bring strategies to lifeBrief and guide cross-functional teams to ensure execution aligns to business prioritiesMaintain accountability for outcomes without directly owning executionPerformance & OptimizationBe accountable for ensuring marketing efforts are driving measurable business impact—not just activityContribute to and influence key commercial metrics including pipeline qualityMonitor performance and use insights to refine strategy and improve resultsJob RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s degree. Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis.Experience: 7-12+ years of experience in B2B marketing, strategy, or commercial rolesKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong experience partnering with sales and business leadershipProven ability to translate business objectives into marketing strategiesExperience working across multiple marketing disciplines (brand, content, demand generation)Commercial mindset with understanding of pipeline, funnel dynamics, and revenue driversStrong communication, stakeholder management, and influence skillsAbility to operate effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environmentAdditional Requirements: This role includes occasional travel, typically once a quarter, based on business needs.Employees can be expected to be paid an annualized salary range of $190,000 - $220,000, based on variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions.We offer comprehensive benefits for eligible employees including medical, prescription, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement savings, paid time off, holidays and additional benefits.Quad is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
