Full job description We have an opportunity for a self-motivated, goal-oriented, and an enthusiastic Controller to join our team! Our quickly growing company is ready for a full time individual to manage all of our on-site accounting and reporting. Ideal candidates for this position will be self starters with experience in several areas of accounting including some payroll experience. Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and standards. Manage full-cycle accounts payable and receivable Perform monthly bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and GL reviews in QuickBooks Online Prepare monthly financial reports Maintain accurate job costing, revenue classification, and chart of accounts Coordinate and oversee multi-system workflows across systems Support annual tax preparation, audit readiness, and insurance audits (workers' comp, general liability) Manage vendor relationships, billing disputes, and payment processing Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency Administer bi-weekly payroll processing outside payroll processor for 20+ employees Maintain compliance with state & local sales tax guidelines Manage employee onboarding and offboarding documentation, including I-9s, W-4s, and direct deposit Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures Oversight, training and mentoring of accounting office personnel Partner with the Owner and any outside Financial Consultants to manage the financial results of the company. Promote adherence to Company policies and internal controls Proactively manage and safeguard company assets Actively manage expense submission, structure and vendors Prepare any weekly and monthly reports required by the management team Reconcile all accounts monthly and insure the accuracy of posted transactions. Cash & Credit Management, projections and reconciliations Support annual tax preparation, audit readiness, and insurance audits (workers' comp, general liability) Qualifications: The controller candidate should have a minimum Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent Controller experience (3+ years preferred). Ability to be analytical and proactive with problem solving and multi-tasking Strong, hands-on proficiency in QuickBooks Online — daily operational use required Experience with HR administration: benefits, compliance, employee relations Self-directed with strong organizational skills and high attention to detail Experience in companies with 30-50+ employees and fleet/vehicle operations (preferred) Full-cycle accounting experience, preferably in a service-based or field service company Benefits: Fast-paced, friendly work environment Health Insurance available after initial waiting period Paid vacation 401(k) Matching Pay: $80,000-90,000 annually based commensurate with experience.
