This includes engineering teams, distributors, and more than 100 qualified construction crews with extensive experience across all ISP types and markets; over 300 experienced bury drop crews; and more than 700 professional technicians.We are seeking a Horizontal Directional Drill Operator to join our team in Montana (must be willing and able to travel). In this role you will operate drilling equipment in both standard and high-risk areas, with live utilities. You will perform conduit splicing, vault/pedestal placement and fiber/coax placement as well as general restoration and cleanup.Why TAK?Full TimePaid WeeklyCompensation: $28 - $33 per hour, DOEFull Benefits Package (Medical, Dental & Vision)Paid Time Off401(k) with Company Match!25K Company Paid Life InsuranceIndependent Work & Team CollaborationCareer Development & Advancement Opportunities!The RoleTransport heavy equipment and materials to job sitesEnsure all utilities have been located and a visual verification completed prior to job startRead staking sheets to determine construction requirements and plan drilling operationsOperate drilling equipment, support vehicles and other construction equipment to complete assigned projectsPerform pilot bores, ream the path and pull back cable/pipe along a predetermined precise underground route in collaboration with a drill locator and vac crewsComplete drilling in both standard and high-risk areas with live utilitiesMaintain a safe work site with proper set up and clean up of job sites, including surface restorationMaintain a working knowledge of utility depths and placementsTroubleshot and make operational adjustments as needed, conferring with construction manager and others to resolve problemsEnsure vehicles, equipment and tools are properly maintained, in good repair and secured in a safe manner dailyMaintain daily bore logs and progress reportsComplete all projects with safety as the #1 priority, ensure compliance with internal safety standards and all governmental orders, including 811 safe digging requirementsOther duties as assignedRequirements3+ years of directional drilling experience requiredStrong communication and coordination with locators, support crews, and other team membersUnderstanding of drill mechanics, soil types, fluid mixtures and locator technologyAbility to travel and work outside of business hours when needed, overtime, etc., in all seasonsExcellent customer service, time management, problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsHigh level of energy, motivation and attention to detailAbility to multi-task, shifting from one task to another without interruptionAbility to work with a noise level from moderate to loudAbility to lift and carry up to 70lbs as neededAbility to complete work outdoors, in tight spaces or elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing in all weather conditions year roundAbility to safely work and navigate various terrains, managing equipment, safety equipment and toolsMust provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver's license is required if the role involves driving; Class A CDL RequiredPassing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)The compensation and benefits information is accurate as of the date of this posting.
