Role: Controls System EngineerLocation: Houston, TX - OnsiteDuration: 12 monthsWhat You will Do:Develop state-of-the-art controls & automation systems technology.Lead development (develop code for PLC, NI or related software control systems), commissioning, and testing of control systems for frac and stimulation equipment.Design and implement automation system networks, including specifying communications protocols, communications media and associated hardware.Conduct hardware & software verification and validation.What You Will Bring:Experience in oil & gas and power generation preferred.Experience in large-scale industrial processes (chemical, pharmaceutical, oil & gas refining)Proven experience in the development of advanced controls systems and Human Machine Interface (HMI) including PLC-based systems including model-based predictive and corrected parameter controls including the application of plant level modeling.Strong background and experience in signal processing and analysis, control systems, system dynamics, and associated mathematics and computation.Experience with system identification, data acquisition, measurement, and estimation techniques.Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, UDP/TCP, CAN, Profinet, more) for system integrationExperience with sensors, actuators, pumps, VFDs and other industrial automation hardware is a plus.Experience with system safety design: IEC 61508, IEC 61131-3, functional safety (SIL).Competency, Skills & Abilities:Expertise implementing Siemens TIA portal, Allen Bradley, and/or National Instrument cRIO control systems.Ability to program in Microsoft VS, other IDE, C# and C++, Phyton, Java, MATLAB is a Plus.Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and diagrams, electrical schematics, piping and instrument drawings (P&IDs), flow charts and cause and effect diagrams.Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and technical communication skills.Support commissioning activities for field installations as needed.Qualifications:Skills acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline and 4 years of related experience.Completion of a Master degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred.
