The Snooze Regional Director of Operations (RDO) ensures operational excellence through the execution of the Snooze Compass: Guests, Snoozers, Community, Sustainability, Passion, Individuality, Craveable and Best-Of-The-Best. The Regional Director of Operation will protect and grow the amazing Snooze culture by thoughtfully utilizing all Restaurant Support Center (RSC) resources including Community, Sustainability, People and Culture, TLC, Technology, Finance, Culinary and Development to support Snooze restaurants within designated region. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Regional Director of Operations is expected to communicate at the highest level with the RSC, Regional Managers, and management teams to ensure that communication flows to all team members clearly and in a timely manner. The Regional Director of Operations embodies Snooze leadership while delivering strong financial performance, operational excellence, and radical hospitality within all restaurants in dedicated region. The Position SpecificsTaking on the role of Regional Director of Operations isn’t just about bacon and pancakes. The responsibilities of this position include:Leadership, Accountability, and Daily ActivitiesAbility to hire the best-of-the-best for the division and retain staff through development and effective communicationEfficiency in completing job requirements by working with a sense of urgency, consolidating tasks, delegating, and empowering others while managing their effortsCreate and execute sound operating plans for each regionCollaboration with the direct Operations leader on Weekly/Period/Quarterly/Annual fiscal reporting and divisional updatesAssist COO and Operation Services in the creation of Key Initiatives around operational areas of focusCommitment to a 30-day operations activity and travel plan to be provided to the direct leader at a minimum of two weeks in advance of the calendar start dateProvide ongoing feedback and clear measurable goals to Regional Managers on a regular basis and perform timely performance reviewsProficiency in guiding a group of leaders to achieve success through coaching, inspiration, motivation, and accountabilityCreate a fun and exciting work environment where leaders and teams feel valued and appreciatedActively build genuine relationships with RSC team, Regional Managers, and restaurant management teamsRegular check-ins as business and relationships dictate with direct reportsPartner with Operations leader on content for our Regional Manager meeting and quarterly meetingsLead and support key projects in support of company goals, rollouts, tests and pilots as necessary Ensure the management teams are fully staffed, staffing pars are accurate, and teams are built for successHire and train Regional Managers that support overall division successVisit all restaurants within the division at a minimum of 6 times per yearDuring each restaurant visit, ensure that you cover the following aspects: conducting a facility audit, reviewing operations, examining operating procedures and policies, assessing operations directives, and evaluating training initiatives. Dedicate a minimum of 60 minutes during each restaurant visit to meet with the members of management teams.Food & Beverage LeadershipConfirm that all policies, procedures, and systems are in place to maintain Snooze’s highest recipe and presentation standards for food and beverage (i.e., purchasing, receiving, storage and preparation)Validate all menu optimizations are up to date during each restaurant visitValidate between 6-8 menu items during each restaurant visit with the RMs in order to teach the philosophies of quality food and beverageBe the inspirational “food voice” for the teams to follow on each visit speaking to the quality behind everything we do and provide feedback and perspective on each visit Restaurant Space and Ambiance LeadershipEnsure that repairs and maintenance are managed and that the preventative maintenance calendar is up to date in each restaurantCollaborate with RM and Facilities Manager to confirm that all equipment issues in the restaurant are being acted on and follow-up is handled timely and properlyVerify that restaurants maintain Snooze cleanliness standards via daily cleaning. Validate paid cleaning crews are performing at or above standardConduct quarterly walk-throughs alongside RM in all restaurantsPersonally take pride in all aspects of cleanliness and care for the facility and is a role model for all Regional Managers Talent and Team LeadershipDemonstrates critical hiring and talent selection practicesDisplays a passion for being of service to othersConfirms that Snoozers are being cared for and that they exhibit a high level of passion for Snooze, Guests, and each other in each restaurantVerifies that management teams are being trained at the highest level and that all Snooze training expectations are being followed and executedEnsure that all birthdays, anniversaries, and life moments are being celebrated for managers and that managers are executing this for all hourliesEngages in the ongoing development of Regional Managers while holding them accountable for performance and maintenance of Snooze standards; includes the use of effective performance management and coaching/ counseling to achieve desired management behaviors.Community and Sustainability LeadershipEnsures the presence of sustainability practices in the restaurants as defined by the companyMonitors waste streams and building practicesObserve RMs practices to ensure accountability to sustainability as necessarySupports the Change Maker, Compass Champions, and Local Restaurant Marketing programs in each restaurant and monitors their effectivenessCoaches RMs and managers on waste area cleanliness and on being a great neighborCoordinates with RM/GM regarding support of restaurant events and catering commitments; ensures that the community event calendar is updatedEncourages and participates in community engagement activities in all restaurant regions and actively help maintain community budgetsFiscal Management LeadershipEnsures restaurant sales growth year over year in accordance with the operating planProvides continuous financial oversight to RM and direction for all P&L line items with specific emphasis on the cost of sales, hourly labor costs, and controllable operating expensesMonthly review of plan goals with RM to identify and implement action steps to address plan variancesSchedule individual one-on-one meetings with each Regional Manager to discuss financial performance in comparison to the restaurant's operating plans on a regular cadenceEnsure the success of New Restaurant Openings financial 90-day ramp-upParticipate in monthly financial calls with leadership to provide insights around business opportunities within the divisionOther tasks, duties, and responsibilities as assigned to meet Snooze’s business and operational needsLet’s Talk Prerequisites! (Education, Credentials, and Experience)Must be authorized to work in the United StatesBachelor’s degree in business, hospitality or other relevant discipline preferred10+ years of related experience working in restaurant operations management5+ years of leadership experience, including direct supervision of General Managers or above restaurant-level operations leadershipProven track record of mentorship, coaching, and growing leadersLet’s Get Physical (Additional Requirements)Must have the stamina to work 45 to 55 hours per weekThe travel required for this position is approximately 50% and you must be able to travel for up to 5 days at one time (air, car, bus. Train, and weekend travel all required)Home base is determined by the geographical marketDenver area base salary range: $140,000-$160,000 per yearThe base salary range above represents the low and high end of the Snooze salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel.
