Quick Job Summary Title: Locum Tenens OB/GYN Hospitalist / Obstetrician-Gynecologist Location: Mason City, IA 50401 (Mason City, North Iowa; Iowa OB/GYN jobs) Key Qualifications: Board Certified OB/GYN, active Iowa medical license, fellowship-trained in OB/GYN Setting: Inpatient - Birth Center / Labor & Delivery Estimated Weekly Salary: $6,310 - $7,480 per week Job Details Position Type: Locum tenens (travel/contract) - OB hospitalist jobs Shift: 24-hour in-house shifts; approximately 4 shifts per month (as needed) Duration: 13-week assignment with potential for extension Start Date: ASAP EMR: EPIC Teaching Opportunity: Yes - participate in residency program and medical student rotations (teaching hospital / academic affiliation) Community: Mason City offers small-town charm with modern amenities, strong schools, parks, and easy access to regional Iowa healthcare networks Job Requirements / Qualifications Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) - Required Active Iowa medical license - Required Fellowship trained in Obstetrics & Gynecology - Required Clean malpractice and background history - Required At least 1 year of experience as an OB/GYN hospitalist or similar inpatient obstetrics role Comfortable managing high-risk and low-risk obstetric patients, performing vaginal and cesarean deliveries (C-sections), and responding to obstetric emergencies Experience with EPIC electronic medical records preferred Strong communication skills and commitment to resident and student education Responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient obstetric care as an OB/GYN hospitalist, including triage, labor management, and delivery (vaginal and cesarean) Manage high- and low-risk obstetric evaluations, urgent gynecologic consultations, and surgical cases when needed Respond to obstetric emergencies and lead multidisciplinary maternal-fetal care teams Supervise and mentor Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), residents, and medical students in a teaching hospitalist environment Assist OB/GYN peers in complex surgical cases and provide coverage for the Labor & Delivery unit as scheduled Document care accurately in EPIC and participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives Why Join This Locum Tenens Opportunity?
