Senior Manager, AI Runtime Security

This leader will be responsible for building and scaling capabilities that protect AI applications and autonomous agents in production environments, including AI guardrails, behavioral attestation, runtime monitoring, and rogue agent detection. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in cloud security, modern AI security controls, and operational security engineering, with a strong track record of leading teams that secure large-scale cloud and SaaS environments.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and lead a team of engineers and analysts focused on AI runtime protection and operational AI security controlsDefine and execute strategy for AI runtime security, including guardrails, behavioral attestation, and rogue agent detectionOperationalize AI runtime controls across AI gateways, APIs, and production environmentsPartner with IT, platform engineering, and cybersecurity teams to integrate detection, response, containment, and kill-switch capabilitiesBuild scalable security operations processes to enforce AI runtime protections in real time across deployed AI systemsDrive integration of runtime telemetry into enterprise monitoring and incident response workflowsEstablish security standards and best practices for securing AI-enabled applications and agentic systemsCollaborate across architecture, cloud, and engineering teams to embed AI security controls into enterprise platformsRequired Qualifications10+ years of experience securing endpoints, cloud platforms and SaaS environmentsDeep experience with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) security architecturesExperience leading security engineering or cyber operations teams in enterprise environmentsStrong understanding of AI systems, AI runtime controls, and modern AI security risksFamiliarity with AI guardrails, AI gateways, behavioral monitoring, and runtime enforcement technologiesExperience integrating security controls into production platforms and operational workflowsStrong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teamsPreferred QualificationsCertifications such as: CCSP AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate Google Associate Cloud EngineerExperience securing AI/ML platforms, autonomous agents, or generative AI systemsFamiliarity with real-time detection and response capabilities for AI-enabled environmentsWhat Success Looks LikeAI runtime protections are consistently enforced across enterprise AI deploymentsSecurity controls scale effectively alongside rapidly growing AI and agentic use casesDetection and response capabilities reduce operational and business risk from unsafe or rogue AI behaviorsCross-functional teams adopt secure-by-design AI runtime patterns and operational standardsSpecial FactorsSponsorshipVanguard is not offering visa sponsorship for this position.About VanguardAt Vanguard, we don't just have a mission—we're on a mission.To work for the long-term financial wellbeing of our clients.
