Broadcast Engineer - Stamford, Connecticut4x10-hour shifts (Rotational – Days/Nights/Weekends). Shift Options: Sun–Wed OR Wed–SatOptomi, in partnership with a leading sports production company, is seeking a Broadcast Engineer to support live production environments and ensure the reliability of broadcast systems. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing broadcast technology across a fast-paced, 24/7 production environment. The Broadcast Engineer will support production systems, workstations, and streaming devices to ensure seamless content delivery. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining broadcast infrastructure, and monitoring video delivery performance across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate is technically versatile, thrives in live production environments, and can handle a wide range of responsibilities.What the Right Candidate Will EnjoyHands-on experience supporting live sports production environments!Exposure to modern broadcast, streaming, and networking technologies!Collaborative team environment with strong learning and growth opportunities!High-impact role supporting real-time content delivery!What Type of Experience the Right Candidate HasExperience working in broadcast, AV, or media production environmentsStrong understanding of video/audio signal flow and routingKnowledge of networking fundamentals (IPv4, closed networks)Familiarity with streaming and transport protocols (Multicast, Unicast, RTP, UDP, SRT)Experience with Windows systems and exposure to Linux-based environmentsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsKey ResponsibilitiesSupport and maintain broadcast systems, production hardware, and workstationsTroubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues across production environmentsMaintain and update devices such as PCs, monitors, Apple TVs, Rokus, tablets, and mobile devicesValidate content delivery across various endpoints and platformsMonitor video delivery metrics, KPIs, and distribution health (CDN, bandwidth, etc.)Assist with setup and configuration of closed networks and IP-based systemsProvide ad hoc technical support across multiple teamsManage and resolve tickets through systems like JiraEnsure all systems are up-to-date and operating efficientlyBasic/Required QualificationsExperience in broadcast, AV, or similar technical environmentsUnderstanding of signal flow, routing, and video/audio formatsNetworking fundamentals including IPv4 configuration and closed network setupFamiliarity with multicast/unicast and streaming protocols (RTP, UDP, SRT)Basic system administration experience (Windows/Linux, command line)Strong troubleshooting and communication skillsAbility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
