Microsoft System Administrator (Senior / Junior)Position / LCAT: Microsoft System Administrator Level: Senior and Junior Lead Designation: N/A Location: Fort Belvoir, VARole SummarySupports the identification and resolution of automation and information technology hardware and software issues to maintain at least a 99% system availability rate. Senior administrators perform administration and maintenance of Windows-based servers, apply DISA STIGs, deploy applications, and conduct system upgrades across multiple supported networks. Junior administrators perform installation, configuration, administration, and monitoring of end-user IT automation equipment including baseline imaging, performance optimization, patching, and updating.ResponsibilitiesSenior Level:Perform administration and maintenance of Windows-based servers, including daily system checks; record 100% of findings and statusesEnsure all Microsoft Windows Server and installed features/applications have the latest DISA STIGs applied within 30 calendar days of releaseApply vendor security updates and hotfixes to address ACAS findings and organizational security mandates within 14 calendar daysProvide detailed system matrices of supported systems and applications including utilization, uptime, storage availability, and performanceDeploy in-house developed, COTS, and GOTS applications to production, integration, and staging servers within 2 business daysConduct system upgrades; planning phase within 15 business days of upgrade requestEnsure availability and accessibility of approximately 20 Microsoft IIS websites hosted across five networksProvide Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning, evaluation, and execution bi-annuallyNotify Government of unscheduled outages within 30 minutes; record to operations log within 4 hoursProvide after-hours on-site support with 2-hour response timeMonitor and manage trouble tickets assigned to the Systems Administration branchJunior Level:Perform installation, configuration, administration, and monitoring of end-user IT automation equipment, including baseline imaging, performance optimization, patching, and updatingPerform maintenance and functionality checks of conference rooms to ensure computer, video-teleconference, and voice IT equipment are operationalIdentify, prioritize, track, and resolve end-user automation hardware and software issues to maintain 99% system availabilityProvide comprehensive inventory and automation capability matrices monthly or as requestedAnalyze technical support requests and provide solutions within 10 business days of receiptCoordinate with Property Book Office to manage equipment issue and turn-in process for end-user IT equipmentPerform daily printer management duties including paper and toner supply maintenanceProvide after-hours on-site support with 2-hour response timeRequired QualificationsSenior Level:Eight years of progressively responsible experience in server administration, including supporting and managing servers in a production environmentFive years of experience identifying and analyzing server requirements; planning the design and deployment of new technologies and upgradesFive years of experience applying industry best practices on Windows Server 2016 and later operating systemsEight years of experience on server administration in Microsoft Windows environments, including configuration, performance monitoring, and tuningFour years of management experienceMicrosoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP experienceThree years of experience serving as a team leaderFive years of experience mentoring junior personnelFive years of experience applying systems patches and STIGs on Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and laterFour years of experience using PowerShell and other scripting languages to automate common and repeat tasksMicrosoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Windows Server 2012/Windows Server 2016 CertificationDoD 8140.03 IAT Level II / Intermediate certificationTS/SCI clearance with SBI and ability to attain SI, TK, G, HCS, and NATO Secret clearanceJunior Level:Three years of progressively responsible experience in desktop support and administration, including supporting, troubleshooting, and managing workstations, monitors, VTC, and printersThree years of experience with installing software, patching software, and troubleshooting software configurationTwo years of experience with printer support and maintenanceThree years of experience with equipment inventory management and turn-in processDoD 8140.03 IAT Level II / Intermediate certificationTS/SCI clearance with SBI and ability to attain SI, TK, G, HCS, and NATO Secret clearancePreferred QualificationsExperience with PowerShell scripting and automationExperience with DISA STIG compliance and ACASNorth Point Technology is THE BEST place to work for curious-minded engineers motivated to support our country’s most crucial missions!
