International Banking Development Officer
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for strategic planning and execution of International Business Development with a high level of autonomy and discretion under the general guidance of the International Banking Department (IBD) Manager. Serves as a Commercial Banking Officer within IBD, partnering closely with the Team Leader. Builds and deepens client relationships through regular client engagement, identifies and delivers tailored banking solutions to meet customer needs, and actively prospects for and develops new business relationships. Supports the IBD Manager and collaborates with the Team Leader in providing leadership to department, including coaching and mentoring team members. Works to meet business development, client retention, and financial goals established by the IBD Manager.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have: Bachelor’s degree in finance, banking, law, or closely related discipline.Minimum Qualifications – Vice President: 5+ years of experience in direct lending or credit support related experience with a focus on business relationships, commercial banking or equivalent, or 5+ years of experience in a C-suite management position in a Japanese multinational, including experience working with large, Japan-based companies and investors with operations or investments in Hawaii, Guam, and CNMI. Must be native-level speaker in Japanese with an emphasis on formal business and honorific language, including reading and writing and experience composing professional-level correspondence and reports in English and Japanese. Must have experience with executive-level Japanese and American business etiquette, culture and practices. 10+ years of experience in direct lending or credit support related experience with a focus on business relationships, commercial banking or equivalent, or 10+ years of experience in a C-suite management position in a Japanese multinational, including experience working with large, Japan-based companies and investors with operations or investments in Hawaii, Guam, and CNMI.
