Higher starting pay may be available for experienced candidates.Newton County Stone is an open-pit limestone mine/quarry seeking an Off-Road Haul Truck Driver for our operation located in Kentland, IN. The Off-Road Haul Truck Driver will be primarily responsible for safely transporting, moving, and managing material within the quarry to support production operations. We also offer a variety of safety equipment, paid holidays, and paid vacations.The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to:Operate off-road haul trucks to transport overburden, rock, or other materials.Assist in clearing overburden from active and future production areas.Operate haul trucks or articulated dump trucks to transport shot rock, crushed limestone, or fines from the plant or pit to designated stockpile areas.Dump loads in an organized manner to build safe, stable stockpiles of different aggregate products.Perform daily pre and post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policiesPerform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by managementWork in coordination with equipment operators and supervisors to maintain an efficient haul cycle.Work closely with production personnel to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient plant operations.Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiencyProperly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environmentOther duties as assigned by managementRequired Qualifications:Individual must be dedicated to always operating safelyIndividual must be willing to perform any task required at quarryMust be able to identify and alert management to maintenance issues with equipmentAbility to compete pre-operation inspection paperworkMust be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday.Ability to lift, push, or pull material weighing up to 50 lbs.Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, dust, etc.).Experience operating heavy equipment is preferred but not required.
