As an Assistant Controller on Pinion’s Accounting Services (PAS) team, you’ll play a critical role in delivering high‑quality financial results while collaborating with others. This role combines hands‑on accounting expertise with project management and meaningful client interaction—making it ideal for professionals who enjoy both detail and leadership.In this position, you’ll serve as a key point of coordination between bookkeepers, controllers, tax, and audit & assurance (A&A) teams to ensure timely, accurate, and insightful deliverables for clients, many of whom operate within the agriculture industry.What our team does:PAS is where public and private accounting meet. PAS serves a wide range of clients and offers a vast array of services from after-the-fact bookkeeping to full back office monthly close procedures. As a member of the team, you will get the client variety that being a public accountant offers with the general ledger-focused nature of private accounting. The PAS team works hand in hand with the Tax and A&A teams as we act as the client’s accounting staff and finalize financial statements for others in the firm to prepare their final deliverables.What you’ll be doing:Responsible for performing a detailed review of the financials and supporting work papersWorks timely to meet project deadlines established with the controllerWorks with client to acquire the necessary information to produce the financialsWorks with the Controller to discuss additional reporting requirements within the scope of the service agreementAssists with training and developing Bill Pay Specialists and BookkeepersSupervise a team of 2 to 4 Bill Pay Specialists and Bookkeepers, assisting with training and developmentDocuments and develops client-specific processes and trains staffActively participates in client onboardingCreates and develops reporting templates based on reports agreed upon in the service agreement. Works with the Controller to identify reporting needs. When making compensation decisions, Pinion takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications/licenses, and geographic location. The wide range for this role reasonably accounts for these factors. Specific compensation decisions are made based on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $56,000 to $85,000/year.Remote Eligibility: This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at a Pinion office or attendance at offsites, as requested/required by the firm and/or your supervisor.
