Split Shift - Maintenance Technician

Sonstegard Foods Company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support our egg processing facility in Sheldon, IA. This is a split shift position, typically starting at 3:00 PM. This position works closely with Management, Production, and Maintenance teams to ensure equipment, utilities, and building systems operate safely and efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systemsPerform preventive maintenance on equipment and building systemsMaintain CIP systems (pumps, valves, controllers)Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtimeComplete daily documentation (boiler testing, water usage, maintenance logs)Follow all safety, GMP, and SQF food safety standardsQualificationsMechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsBasic computer skills (preventive maintenance software)Strong communication and teamwork abilitiesAbility to follow SOPs and safety proceduresManufacturing or food processing experience preferredPhysical RequirementsLift 50–100 lbsAbility to bend, kneel, crawl, and work in industrial environmentsBenefitsCompetitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, paid holidays, retirement savings plan with company match, and advancement opportunities.
