DescriptionJob Description | Live Meeting Transcription SpecialistWork Location: RemoteJob Status: Part timeAvailability: 10+ hours per week, flexible scheduleStart Date: January, 2026Rate: $20.00/hourPosition DescriptionWe are seeking experienced Live Meeting Transcriptionists to attend virtual meetings and provide accurate, timely transcription services. This role requires exceptional stenography skills, fast and accurate typing, and the ability to deliver professional transcripts within tight deadlines. You will create either verbatim transcripts or meeting summaries based on specific project requirements.Main ResponsibilitiesJoin virtual meetings promptly between 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM PST as scheduled for a part-time shiftAccurately transcribe live meetings in real-time using stenography or advanced typing skillsCapture meeting content as directed by the meeting lead, which may include:○ Verbatim transcripts - Word-for-word documentation including actions and gestures○ Meeting summaries - Concise overviews of key discussion points and decisionsDeliver correct, clear, and professionally formatted transcripts within 24-hour turnaround from meeting completionProofread and edit transcripts for accuracy, grammar, spelling, and clarityEnsure all transcripts meet quality standards and project specificationsMaintain high attention to detail throughout the transcription processVerify accuracy of names, technical terms, and specialized vocabularyEnsure confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive meeting contentWork independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlinesRequirementsStenographer experience requiredTranscription certification (e.g., TCI, CET, CER, CDR, or equivalent)2+ years of experience in live meeting transcription or professional note-takingProven fast and accurate typing skills: 80-90 WPM minimumProficiency with Google Workspace/Suite (Docs, Drive, Meet, etc.)Comfortable with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)Native English proficiency (written and oral)Strong command of English grammar, spelling, and vocabularyExcellent proofreading and editing skillsAbility to understand and accurately transcribe diverse accents and speaking stylesSelf-driven and independent - able to work with minimal supervisionHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracyReliable and punctual - able to join meetings on timeFlexible availability between 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM PSTAble to commit to 10-20 hours per week (10 hours guaranteed minimum)Reliable internet connection and quiet workspace for virtual meetingsTELUS ValuesTELUS recognizes and embraces the importance of values in our ever-changing workplace.
