Job Title: Structural EngineerJob DescriptionJoin an exciting opportunity to support ongoing structural inspections of industrial facilities across Central Florida. As a Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in inspecting existing structures, identifying deficiencies, and documenting necessary repairs through formal inspection reports. This position offers hands-on industrial inspection experience under the guidance of seasoned structural professionals.ResponsibilitiesConduct thorough structural inspections of buildings, conveyor structures, pipe racks, catwalks, and other industrial structures.Assess the structural integrity and safety of these structures.Document findings with photographs and measurements, and prepare detailed inspection reports.Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.Communicate effectively with owner stakeholders.Participate in on-the-job training with experienced inspectors (typically 2–5 days).Travel to client facilities across the Tampa Bay Area and Central Florida.Comply with all safety, PPE, and site-specific requirements.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited program in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar disciplines.Minimum 6 months of relevant structural experience (internships or construction/field experience acceptable).Comfortable working in industrial environments.Strong written communication skills for inspection reporting.Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulations.Excellent observational and analytical skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various inspection sites across the Tampa Bay Area and Central Florida.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrior field inspection experience is preferred.General knowledge of AutoCAD software.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.OSHA 10 certification (covered if not already obtained).Florida Phosphate Producer Training (covered if not already obtained).Work EnvironmentThe first 2–3 weeks of each quarter will primarily be spent in the field, with reporting and documentation work completed remotely. Periodic travel to an office in Tampa or Orlando is required, with Tampa preferred. Inspections will take place at various facilities and surrounding areas, including South Pierce, New Wales, Lithia, FishHawk, Mulberry, Riverview, and Port Tampa Bay. Candidates must be located within driving distance. Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel to and around job sites. During overnight assignments, hotel accommodations up to $150/night and meals up to $75/day are reimbursed.
