Major Responsibilities/Essential FunctionsThe primary job duties this position is responsible for achieving are listed in order of importance.Position SummaryThe Quality Coordinator assists the QA Manager in ensuring that the company's quality assurance standards are met and performs various QA-related tasks.The Quality Coordinator will follow the guidelines set by CLIA, and CA Business and Professional Code of Regulations (BPC: 1212 and 1269) unlicensed laboratory personnel.Unlicensed laboratory personnel are defined as a laboratory aide, histocompatibility technician, cardiopulmonary technician, or other person performing the activities authorized by CA BPC 1269.DutiesResponsible for assisting in the coordination, integration and implementation of the company wide performance improvement activities to ensure compliance with company policies and Federal/State regulatory and accreditation standards.Assists with, and monitors systems and procedures for the identification, collection and analysis of the performance of quality measurement data.Responsible for maintaining quality management documents, incident reports and correspondence in an organized and secure manner.Educates and trains staff as to the quality improvement plan, and their respective responsibilities in carrying out the quality improvement program.Coordinates and integrates the introduction of quality improvement processes throughout the company in accordance with the quality plan.Assists with identifying and developing future goals and activities for quality assurance and participates in decisions on priorities and activities.Participates in audit preparation and coordination.Compiles, monitors and reports data related to QA, lab operations and program evaluations.Provides reports on a regular basis and as directed or requested, to keep Management informed of the operation and progress of quality efforts.Assists in the survey preparation and process.Assists in QA and document control processes, including administration and management of internal audits, record maintenance and archiving.Performs daily laboratory safety inspections.Performs other duties as assigned by Laboratory Management.Job QualificationsMinimum EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalentPreferred EducationBachelor's DegreeMinimum Work Experience and QualificationsAt least have earned a high school diploma, have the skills required for the job as listed in this document, have awareness of the factors that influence laboratory test resultsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsExercises accuracy and precision in completion of prescribed tasksData entry/computer skillsPreferred Work Experience and QualificationsPrior Quality Assurance and Laboratory experienceRequired Licensure, Certification, Registration or DesignationCurrent Los Angeles County Fire Card required (within 30 days of hire)Assault Response Competency (ARC) required (within 30 days of hire)Status: Full TimeShift: DaysWeekly/Bi-Weekly Hours: 40hrs/80hrsFTE: 1.0J-18808-Ljbffr
