Assistant Construction Manager

OverviewWe are seeking an Assistant Construction Manager to support facility-focused construction projects with a heavy emphasis on MEP systems, particularly HVAC. This role partners closely with senior construction leadership to manage day-to-day field operations, subcontractors, schedules, and project documentation across complex building systems.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the management of commercial and/or industrial construction projects from preconstruction through closeoutSupport construction activities on the facilities side, including renovations, upgrades, and new system installationsCoordinate and oversee MEP trades (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), with a strong focus on HVAC systemsReview and track MEP drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change ordersMonitor project schedules, sequencing, and daily field activities to ensure milestones are metServe as a point of contact for subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and internal stakeholdersUtilize Procore to manage project documentation, daily reports, punch lists, and communicationSupport quality control, safety compliance, and site logisticsParticipate in project meetings and assist with issue resolution in the fieldTrack progress, costs, and materials in coordination with the Construction ManagerRequired QualificationsBackground in construction management (highly important)Hands-on experience with MEP systems:MechanicalElectricalPlumbingHVAC experience is required (installation, coordination, or oversight)Experience working on the facilities side of construction (operational buildings, upgrades, tenant improvements, or renovations)Proficiency with Procore construction management softwareAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsStrong communication and coordination skills in a field-based environmentPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience as an Assistant Construction Manager, Project Engineer, or Field EngineerExperience supporting facility upgrades, mechanical retrofits, or building systems projectsFamiliarity with safety standards, inspections, and quality control processesExperience working with multiple subcontractor trades simultaneously
