Regional EH&S Manager

Overview As Regional Manager EHS, you will drive comprehensive systems to ensure facilities meet environmental, safety, health, and security regulations cost-effectively. You’ll act as an expert EH&S resource for facility teams, business unit leaders, and Avient executives to coach and elevate performance. You’ll shape and monitor the EHS roadmap, fostering continuous improvement and strong governance. This role offers impact across sites, contributing to Avient’s sustainable solutions mission and safe operations at scale. ResponsibilitiesOversee EHS activities at multiple sites through coaching, mentoring, training, and support to facility EH&S managers and leadership.Monitor and advance progress on the EHS Roadmap and annual objectives.Identify risks, evaluate consequences, and design solutions to address facility needs.Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, reporting, and preventive actions.Ensure regulatory permitting and reporting compliance with documented evidence.Coordinate management systems such as Responsible Care and EHS IT platforms.Manage third-party risk consultants and property insurance programs for sites.Review and approve capital projects and conduct audits for compliance with standards and laws.Contribute to development and maintenance of corporate EHS standards and training programs.Engage with governmental authorities and external counsel as needed. Key requirements10+ years of progressive EH&S experience in manufacturing, chemical, industrial, or process industriesMinimum 5 years of leadership experience managing EH&S programs or personnelAbility to read and interpret regulations affecting facilities, business units, acquisitions, and corporate initiativesDeep knowledge of environmental, health, and safety management systems and continuous improvementAbility to develop and maintain third-party certified EHS management systemsExperience handling environmental, health, safety incidents (releases, injuries, etc.)Negotiation skills with regulators and external stakeholdersleadershipcoaching and mentoringcross-functional collaborationEHS management systemsincident investigation and root cause analysisregulatory compliance and reporting
