Job Title: Security Assistant
Department: Operations – Services
Reports To: RavenTek Program Manager
Location: Washington, DC with flexibility for telework
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week
FLSA Status: Hourly, non-exempt
Clearance: Secret
Position Summary
The Security Assistant supports the mission of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) by providing administrative support to USAID and select Operating Units (OU). The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance on the USAID Vetting contract, and therefore RavenTek's mission to support USAID.
Requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Review and process 565-1 badge form requests, ensuring accuracy and proper information management for various personnel types, including OFDA personnel, ICs, PSCs, and PASAs.
Verify and update information through SEC’s databases to ensure all security information is current and accurate.
Assist in badge creation, handle physical access requests, and manage visitor and Distinguished Visitor (DV) requests.
Provide escort services for visitors and high-profile personnel as needed.
Support the coordination and execution of Active Shooter trainings and other security-related drills.
Learn and support other domestic security functions, including the oversight of physical security at various USAID locations.
Assist with managing physical access control systems, CCTV systems, and alarm systems for security monitoring and response.
Perform additional administrative and security-related tasks as required to support the team’s needs.
Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
Complete and submit Monthly Status Reports (MSR) to the Project Manager by COB on the last working day of the month.
Complete required compliance training as assigned.
Monitor and respond to RavenTek email a minimum of 3 times per week.
Other duties as assigned.
Must live in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Exceptional attention to detail, especially when processing badge requests and maintaining security records.
Ability to collaborate with the security team and other internal and external stakeholders.
Familiar with physical access control systems, CCTV, and alarm systems (preferred but not required; training provided).
Willingness to learn and adapt to additional security functions as needed.
Must be highly organized and driven with strong verbal communication skills.
Proficient in grammar, spelling, and punctuation is also required to produce printed materials accurately.
Articulate and comfortable around senior personnel and dignitaries.
Must understand basic protocols, i.e. rank, position, and authority.
Ability to screen telephone calls, visitors, and incoming correspondence.
Familiar with Google Suite tools, such as Gmail, Docs, Calendars, and Drive a plus.
Education & Work Experience
Minimum of one year’s experience in related field, preferably with the federal government.
Experience with administrative functions, particularly in a security or government-related setting.

Special Requirements
Secret security clearance required.
Work Environment
Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.
Physical Demands
To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
