Structural Project Engineer | JZ Structural Consulting | Chantilly, VASalary: $90,000–$110,000 per year, depending on experienceJZ Structural Consulting is growing, and we are looking for a Structural Project Engineer with 3–5 years of professional experience.We work primarily on small- and medium-sized residential, commercial, and institutional projects. Our engineers are involved in multiple phases of a project, from structural analysis and design through construction documents, field observations, and coordination with architects, contractors, and owners.This position is a good fit for an engineer with a strong technical foundation who wants to take on increasing project responsibility and develop toward project management over time.ResponsibilitiesPerform structural analysis and design using steel, concrete, masonry, and woodPrepare calculations, construction documents, details, and technical reportsConduct site visits and field observationsCoordinate with architects, contractors, owners, and other project participantsManage assigned tasks, schedules, and priorities with increasing independenceTake on greater project and client coordination as experience and performance demonstrate readinessQualificationsBachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field3–5 years of structural engineering experience, preferably in building designStrong knowledge of structural materials, building codes, and design standardsExperience with structural analysis and design softwareProficiency with AutoCADStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsFE passed / EIT designation and progress toward PE licensure preferredRevit experience is a plus, but not requiredYou do not need to arrive as a fully developed Project Manager. We value strong engineering ability, sound judgment, reliability, communication, and demonstrated performance.
