Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Lead Residential HVAC Installer to oversee and perform residential HVAC system installations. This role is responsible for leading installation crews, ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, while delivering an excellent customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage residential HVAC installations, including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, mini-splits, ductwork, and ventilation systems.
Supervise and mentor installation helpers, ensuring proper techniques, safety compliance, and job efficiency.
Plan and execute full system change-outs and new installations from start to finish.
Ensure all installations meet manufacturer specifications, company standards, and local/state HVAC codes.
Perform system start-ups, testing, commissioning, and final quality inspections.
Diagnose and resolve installation-related issues on-site.
Communicate professionally with homeowners, explaining system operation, installation details, and maintenance best practices.
Coordinate with dispatch, management, and warehouse staff to ensure correct equipment and materials are available for each job.
Maintain accurate job documentation, including materials used, photos, and completion reports.
Enforce job-site safety, cleanliness, and organization.
Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle in proper working condition.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (HVAC trade school or technical training preferred).
EPA Certification required (Type II or Universal).
3+ years of residential HVAC installation experience, including system change-outs.
Proven ability to lead and train installation teams.
Strong knowledge of residential HVAC systems, airflow, duct design, electrical, and refrigeration principles.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to installation and start-up.
Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and confined spaces.
Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
