Security SME / Principal Security ConsultantAt NETbuilder, we're seeking a highly skilled Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) to help clients strengthen, modernize, and operationalize their security capabilities, while also playing a key role in our commercial strategy. This position blends deep technical expertise across security engineering and security operations with strong communication, thought leadership, and sales enablement skills.As a Principal Consultant, you'll lead technical engagements end-to-end while partnering closely with our sales and marketing teams to shape messaging, develop content, and represent NETbuilder in public forums (ability to travel required). You'll bring credibility, clarity, and a practitioner's perspective to client conversations, industry events, and market-facing materials.What You'll DoLead security architecture, engineering, and operational improvement engagements for enterprise clientsAssess, design, and optimize security tooling (e.g., CrowdStrike, Splunk, EDR, SIEM, SOAR, CSPM)Drive security operations maturity across detection engineering, incident response, and threat huntingDesign and implement security controls for cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environmentsBuild automation and orchestration workflows to improve SOC efficiencyPartner with sales to lead pre-sales conversations, technical scoping, and solution positioningCollaborate with marketing to create security-focused content, whitepapers, and client-facing materialsDeliver thought leadership through blogs, webinars, conference presentations, and panelsRepresent NETbuilder externally as a trusted expert and evangelist for modern security practicesProvide line management to security consultants: career development, coaching, feedback, and performance managementSupport resource planning, team capability growth, and mentoring across the wider security practiceProduce runbooks, playbooks, and engineering documentation to support ongoing operationsMentor customers and internal teams on best practices and emerging security trendsWhat You Bring8+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering, security operations, or bothBroad technical knowledge across EDR, SIEM, SOAR, identity, network security, and cloud securityExperience with enterprise tooling such as CrowdStrike, Splunk, Sentinel, Palo Alto, or similarStrong scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell, or similar)Deep understanding of detection engineering, incident response, and threat managementExperience designing security architectures in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholdersProven ability to create thought leadership, marketing content, or speak at public eventsExperience supporting sales cycles or influencing solution decisionsPrevious line management or team leadership experience, with a commitment to developing peopleFamiliarity with security frameworks and standards (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, SOC2)Who You AreYou're a seasoned security practitioner who's equally comfortable hands-on, presenting on stage, or guiding clients through strategic decisions.
