JOB SUMMARYThe Product Manager has responsibilities for all aspects of the product line measured by total product line profitability. Responsible for setting guidelines for product pricing, inventory management, and define the overall product line strategy. The Product Manager will work creatively and pragmatically to gather and prioritize new product opportunities, analyze customer requirements, research and define target industries, and execute strategies for successful market penetration. The Product Manager will work closely with our Manufacturing Team, Engineering, Sales, Quality Assurance, and Marketing. This positions requires travel up to 40% of the time. When not traveling working on site is preferred.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop a comprehensive technical knowledge of product lineBe an expert with respect to competition. Understand the market with a focus on industries that fit well within PEER's long-term strategyPromote the PEER brand to Sales Team to keep them motivated and driven to sell the productBe the leader in development and evaluation of industry products that will lead to growth and profitability of the product lineDefine/understand all market requirements deeded to position PEER's product line as "Best in Class"Support engineering and manufacturing in setting specifications and tolerances for standard productsTeam up with Engineering to take an active role in product training for font line colleaguesCollaborate with Inventory Control and Production to efficiently meet changing industry requirementsWork closely and be the bridge between the Manufacturing Plants and Sales OrganizationsPromote the product line by working closely with marketing team to develop sales tools and marketing literatureCollaboration with Sales, Engineering, QA, Manufacturing; Act as the bridge between departments to ensure customer demands and expectations are consistently metPerforms miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required QUALIFICATIONS:Formal mechanical engineering backgroundProven experience within the chain industryMinimum of 5 years' experience in Product Management, Application Sales/Engineering or ManufacturingExperience with Metal, Machining, and Manufacturing ProcessesExceptional written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrate success in leading teams along with motivating and developing peopleTechnical backgroundProficient at math and analyzing dataAbility to interact with multi-national peopleSkills to confidently speak with customers when neededStrong presentation skillsOrganized and detail-orientedTeamwork-orientedMust be able to travel (30 - 40 % of time both domestically and internationally)Motivated individual with desire to learn and grow within organizationBe able to work on site when not traveling BENEFITS:Competitive salaryFlexible hoursHealth, dental and vision insurance401(k)Profit sharing planSTD, LTD and life insuranceGenerous PTO policy and paid holidaysWORK LOCATION: Position works out of headquarters located in Waukegan, IL USAHow to apply: www.peerchain.com/about-us/careersSalary Description
