UPS Technician 3 - 100% Travel with Security Clearance

The Critical Power Group is responsible for maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting UPS systems, batteries, and other critical infrastructure equipment.Responsibilities100% travel within the United StatesDaily travel with independent work structureEmergency call availability 24/7 unless on PTO or Off CallMaintain and safeguard company‐issued equipment, tools, and instrumentsPerform battery repair, replacement, installations, and replacementsConduct required preventative maintenance service on equipment under contract as scheduledMaintain customer contact and interfaceCommunicate availability status to corporate office, team lead, or managerProtect company proprietary information, manuals, and recordsUse electronic and electrical test equipment as necessaryCoordinate and manage on‐site subcontractors hired by M.C. Dean as neededMaintain company or personal vehicle in safe and operational condition; keep insurance as required by companyEnsure work is performed to M.C. Dean standardsComplete all paperwork, including field service reports, time sheets, expense reports, and other job‐required reports promptly and accuratelyProvide technical support to customers upon requestMaintain technical documentation for study and reviewAttend product‐specific training as company deems necessaryCross‐train other UPS technicians as neededInspect power electronic systems and associated controls (UPS, batteries, static transfer switches, power distribution units, etc.) and perform initial, in‐process, visual, final inspections, operational checks, failure analysis and repairsCertify by signature that systems and components meet quality standards established by applicable codes, publications, checklists, and specificationsReview and check system drawings and specifications for accuracy and completeness; determine maintenance and inspection requirements; resolve discrepancies between recorded and actual components through research with owner/manufacturer or physical inspection; correct and certify changes entered for recordProvide technical assistance and expertise on power electronic devices to owners and engineers, including inspections, maintenance assistance, and instruction of site personnel; advise on proper maintenance practices, procedures, and techniques; review and interpret existing technical publications; resolve technical problems; prepare reports of findings and recommend system improvements and quality control programsMaintain operational expertise with the following instruments: digital multi‐meter, power analyzer, infrared camera, digital camera, insulation test equipment, EMI/EMF meters, battery test equipment (Alber/Midtronics), oscill...
