Process Engineer
Process Engineer for III-V Semiconductor Devices Edison is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to lead the development and optimization of advanced III-V semiconductor fabrication processes, with a focus on GaAs based laser devices.This is a hands on, technical role spanning both research development and device fabrication. You will play a key role in developing robust, repeatable processes and supporting the transition of experimental device concepts into reliable fabrication flows.What you’ll be doingOwn and develop end-to-end III-V device fabrication processesWork across lithography, dry/wet etching, thin film deposition, and metallizationDesign and execute process development, qualification, and yield improvement experimentsIntegrate unit processes into full device fabrication flows for photonic structuresTroubleshoot process and device performance issues using data-driven analysisCollaborate closely with academic researchers and external partners on process transfer and optimizationSupervise and support a process technician in daily cleanroom operationsMaintain process documentation, control plans, and fabrication recordsOperate within a multi-user cleanroom with dynamic priorities and shared equipmentWhat you'll need Hands-on experience in semiconductor cleanroom process engineeringStrong background in lithography, etching, and thin film deposition techniquesExperience with III-V materials (e.g., GaAs, InP, GaN) strongly preferredUnderstanding of process control, yield improvement, and root cause analysisExperience working in both R&D and fabrication environmentsAbility to work collaboratively across technical and academic teamsPrior experience mentoring or supervising junior staff is an advantageDegree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related fieldCompanyThis is a unique opportunity to work on next-generation semiconductor and photonic device technologies for a VC backed startup, in a highly collaborative research environment, with direct impact on advanced device development and process innovation.
