We recognize that meaningful impact begins from within, and we are committed to building a workplace where employees experience belonging, growth, transparency, and shared purpose.To help lead this important work, Vermont Foodbank seeks a strategic, collaborative, and mission-driven leader to serve as our next Director of Equity, People & Culture (EPeC) and Administration.About the OpportunityThis is more than an HR leadership role—it is an opportunity to help shape the future of one of Vermont's most respected and impactful nonprofit organizations.Reporting to the Chief Equity, People & Culture Officer and partnering closely with executive leadership, the Director of EPeC and Administration will play a key role in advancing Vermont Foodbank's strategic vision by strengthening organizational culture, supporting employee development, enhancing internal communication, and building systems that allow staff and programs to thrive.As Vermont Foodbank continues to evolve, this leader will help create an employee experience grounded in equity, collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning while ensuring the operational excellence necessary to support our statewide mission.What You’ll DoLead HR and administrative operations across the organizationOversee recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, payroll/timekeeping, benefits administration, performance management, and professional development initiativesStrengthen internal systems, workflows, and organizational communication practicesSupport leadership and the Board of Directors with governance coordination, operational planning, and administrative excellenceHelp advance learning, leadership development, and equitable workplace practices aligned with the Foodbank’s strategic prioritiesFoster a collaborative, people-centered culture grounded in accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvementSupervise and mentor EPeC and administrative team membersPartner cross-functionally to support organizational growth, systems evolution, and strategic change initiativesWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in human resources, business, organizational leadership, public administration, or a related fieldProgressive leadership experience in HR, administration, operations, or related areasStrong knowledge of HR practices, compliance, organizational systems, and people leadershipExperience improving processes, managing multiple priorities, and leading through changeExcellent communication, judgment, discretion, and relationship-building skillsCommitment to equity, inclusion, professionalism, and service-oriented leadershipExperience building collaborative relationships across teams and stakeholdersNonprofit experience including non-profit governance preferredWhy Vermont Foodbank?Vermont Foodbank is more than a food distribution organization it is a statewide movement working to address the root causes of hunger and strengthen food security across Vermont communities.
