Are you a hands-on GovCon accounting professional who can step into Costpoint 8.2 and take ownership quickly? A small, growing federal contractor needs an experienced Controller to stabilize and run its day-to-day accounting operation. This assignment is designed for someone who enjoys doing the work personally and can deliver accurate billing, payroll, close, cash visibility, and leadership reporting without a large accounting team.
Immediate priorities
Take ownership of full-cycle accounting and the monthly close in Deltek Costpoint 8.2.
Prepare accurate CPFF, T&M, and FFP invoices; reconcile billings to time, expenses, subcontractor costs, funding, and contract terms.
Process semi-monthly multistate payroll in Costpoint and reconcile payroll to timekeeping and the general ledger.
Manage AP, AR, cash receipts, collections, journal entries, bank and balance-sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Track funding, ceilings, periods of performance, burn rates, unbilled costs, billing rates, fee, and indirect rates.
Provide leadership with timely financial reporting, cash-flow visibility, forecasts, and clear explanations of significant variances.
Resolve Costpoint processing issues and strengthen practical controls, calendars, checklists, and accounting procedures.
Required experience
Recent, direct, hands-on Deltek Costpoint 8.2 experience. This is a required qualification, not a preference.
Government-contractor accounting experience with FAR cost principles, indirect-rate structures, and CPFF, T&M, and FFP billing.
Experience personally performing full-cycle accounting, payroll, project setup, billing, reporting, and period-end processing in Costpoint.
Ability to work independently, organize recurring deadlines, and communicate clearly with owners, operations, HR, program teams, outside accountants, customers, and subcontractors.
Strong pluses
WAWF and prime-contractor billing portals; provisional billing rates or incurred-cost submissions; subcontractor accounting; DCAA or customer audit support; Costpoint implementation or migration; and prior work as the primary accounting professional for a small GovCon.
Why consider the assignment
Remote work with direct access to company decision-makers.
Immediate opportunity to make a visible operational impact.
Focused project path for an experienced Costpoint professional who prefers hands-on ownership.
To be considered, your resume should clearly identify your Costpoint version, GovCon contract types, billing responsibilities, payroll experience, and level of hands-on accounting ownership.
