This is a strategic leadership role for an estimator who understands underground infrastructure work and can lead competitive pursuits across complex public and private utility projects.The company has a strong reputation in California infrastructure construction and specializes in underground utility installation including sewer, storm drain, waterline, vault, conduit, and cable work. Key responsibilitiesLead estimating efforts across major heavy civil and underground wet utility pursuitsOversee bid strategy, takeoffs, pricing, subcontractor/vendor coverage, and final proposal submissionReview plans, specifications, and contract documents for risk, scope gaps, and commercial opportunityCollaborate with ownership and operations leadership on bid selection and preconstruction planningBuild and refine estimating processes, standards, and bid strategySupport the transition from awarded work into operationsWhat we’re looking for5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil constructionMust have strong underground wet utilities experienceProven success pricing and winning projects in the $10M–$150M rangeStrong understanding of civil self-perform work, production assumptions, means and methods, and subcontractor marketsComfortable working directly with ownership in an entrepreneurial, high-accountability environmentBackground with established civil, utility, or pipeline contractors is highly preferredWhy consider this role$200K+ base salaryFast interview process with immediate face-to-face accessDirect reporting line to family ownershipHigh-impact role with visibility across major bids and strategic growthExcellent opportunity for a senior estimator ready for broader influence#ChiefEstimator #HeavyCivil #UndergroundUtilities #CivilConstruction #UtilityConstruction #CaliforniaConstruction
