Extruder Operator I - Night Shift

This role focuses on foundational skills, adherence to procedures, and learning the extrusion process. Responsible for operating and monitoring the automated vinyl and accessory extruders, tooling, and downstream equipment.Night Shift Work Schedule: The position assignment is for 12-hour shifts in Production, 6:00AM - 6:00PM on a rotating schedule 2-2-3. This includes being scheduled for some weekend shifts. Assist with line start-up, shutdown, and color changes under supervisionVerify correct materials are used in productionPerform basic quality checks (color, gloss, dimensions, product specs, visual inspection, etc.)Monitor line operations and report abnormalities or issuesEnter production data into MES (Factory+) systemPerform basic lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures on equipmentSubmit work orders and maintenance requests as neededMake basic equipment and tooling adjustments to maintain quality standards and support tooling cleaning, assembly, and line adjustmentsComplete shift reporting for metrics such as scrap rates and performancePerform basic troubleshooting on production equipmentCommunicate effectively with team members, including packers, operators, and leadershipPack panels and accessories according to quality standardsProvide relief for packers during breaksSupport team members with line issues and general production needsEnsure safety, quality, housekeeping, 5S, and KOI performance for assigned production lineFollow all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environmentPerform other duties as assignedIS THIS JOB FOR YOU?Qualifications1-2 years manufacturing experience in machine operation (lathe/mill/etc.), preferably extrusion machine or similarPreferred experience with Quality Assurance including inspecting, gaging, measuringMust be able to work 12-hour night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule which includes some weekend shiftsa Little More About UsThrough the responsible development of innovative and sustainable building products, CertainTeed, headquartered in Malvern, Pennsylvania, has helped shape the building products industry for more than 110 years.
