Assistant ManagerThe Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the store in the absence of the Liquor Store General Manager. This position is responsible for reviewing orders, helping to implement merchandising initiatives, and promoting sales. To be successful in this position you will need to have a passion for customer service, and a natural ability to lead a team.Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Meet customer satisfaction through constant and consistent customer service.Creates a warm atmosphere for both guests and employees.Oversees all aspects of total store operation at the Liquor Store. Acts as Manager on Duty, performing all necessary functions for successful store operation.Follows all store and legal guidelines regarding the sale of alcohol, as well as other products at the register.Monitors inventory levels and preserves backroom, coolers, and freezers organization and product storage.Replenishes shelves to ensure ample product is available.Follows cleaning schedules and department guidelines.Operates the cash register. Performs all related check out procedures. Properly and efficiently bags merchandise.Maintains accuracy during the transaction, ensuring the customer is charged for all items and appropriate funds are collected. Maintains proper security measures and cash drawer accounting procedures, avoiding overages and/or shortages.Assists store management in onboarding new associates.Performs daily store walks of the entire store and exterior property to identify successes and opportunities, provide direction and feedback, and be visible and accessible to associates and customers.Enforces and follows department practices regarding receiving, dating and stocking product to ensure quality, accuracy and proper rotation.Applies proper stocking techniques to ensure products are properly located on shelves, rotated and within easy customer reach. Ensures merchandise is in saleable condition with correct prices and signs. Stores excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines and 5S standards.May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries through the operation of a power jack.Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and managers. Responsible to continuously improve job performance.Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor's Degree preferred or a minimum of 5 years liquor store management experience.Basic math skillsPrevious supervisory responsibilityCheerful & courteous dispositionNeat & clean professional imageVast knowledge of wines, beers, and spirits is a plus
